A secret agent (Kerwin Mathews) sets out to stop an evil scientist (Robert Hossein) who is about to unleash on the world a virulent biological strain he has developed during experiments on rats. Also stars Pier Angeli and Dominique Wilms.

After the Italian production of Panic In Bangkok (1964), actress Pier Angeli returned in the hit European-American co-production Battle Of The Bulge (1965). Then, after a handful of films between 1966 and 1970, Pier realized her dreams of superstardom were not to be. She had divorced her second husband (Armando Trovajoli) in 1969 and made her final film appearance on the screen, in 1971, in the low-budget sci-fi opus Octaman (1971), (also available here at SSV). Shortly after, on September 10th, 1971, Pier was found dead from a barbiturate overdose in her Beverly Hills home. She was 39 years old. According to several people who knew her, she was terrified of turning 40.

A misfit high school science teacher (Kenji Sawada, a Japanese pop singer) builds his own atomic bomb and uses his science class to work out some of the details. At first he is an accidental hero when he helps save his students from the clutches of a school bus hijacker. But after his bomb is constructed the teacher holds the government ransom. Among his demands are allowing the Rolling Stones into the country for a concert (they were banned because of drug use) and televising baseball games without commercial breaks. Meanwhile a police detective (Bunta Sugawara) tries to track him down. (In Japanese language, with English subtitles).

While performing during a wrestling bout, Santo spills some of his blood near the audience. Soon this blood is scooped up by a mysterious attendee, Dr. Freda Frankenstein (Gina Romand), who spirits it back to her laboratory where she keeps two of her monstrous creations, the half-ape Truxon and patchwork man Ursus. Frankenstein needs Santo's essence to create more of her powerful youth serum, which provides temporary relief from the ravages of aging. Unfortunately her experiments now indicate she needs a bigger supply, so the lady doctor sets up an elaborate trap to lure in the healthy wrestler. I've Lived Before (1956) $19.99
This film was released during the short lived "Bridey Murphy" reincarnation craze of the mid-1950's. Jock Mahoney plays a contemporary pilot who survives a plane crash. Upon awakening he is under the delusion that he is another airman who died during the first World War. The authorities pass this insistence off as delirium, until Mahoney starts recounting events and intimacies that only the long-dead pilot would know. Ann Harding portrays the aging, former lover of the soul trapped within Mahoney's body. Also stars Leigh Snowden and with John McIntire and Raymond Bailey.


Former screen Tarzan Jock Mahoney died in Bremerton, Washington from an apparent stroke on December 14th, 1989. He had been hospitalized after an auto accident just two days prior to his death. He was 70.


Leigh Snowden died from Malignant melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, on May 11th, 1982. She was 52.
